Not all agents focus on works of fiction, some are only interested in technical books, while on the other side of the coin others enjoy pursuing works of poetry. After finding the ones that fit your field, you now have to locate the agent who has your best interest at heart and not theirs. Many book agents get caught up with their own agenda. Locating book agents who are legitimate is nowhere near as easy as you think it is.
